Ultrasound Maunfacturers List

Acuson and Siemens
Now owned by Siemens, the Acuson branding once went away and is now advertised as a brand again. Apparently the Seimens name didn't carry the weight that Acuson brings and you'll now see the Acuson brand on its ultrasound products. Siemens makes very good ultrasound machines, although it doesn't have the high-end, premium products that Philips and GE has. The Sequoia remains popular despite its aged interface and technologies.
ATL/Philips
Philips remains a strong contender for overall imaging quality. Its user interface design is very good and all their premium products continue to carry a premium price. These are difficult to find on the refurbished market and usually carry a price tag to match. There are plenty of systems that compete with Philips' new system at a much lower price point.
General Electric and Vingmed
From being known as just a decent OB/GYN ultrasound provider, GE lept to the top of the heap and provides at least one ultrasound for about every market. In fact, it's quite overkill, but it makes for good prices in our market and their products are solid. Getting later revisions of many of its Logiq and Vivid products make for excellent buying choices and bargains abound. These are among the most recommended products you'll find at GE, as many of them are the market leaders.
Hewlett-Packard/Agilent
Price and performance is what you'll get here. In lower-priced cardiac systems, it will be hard to beat HP. HP cardiac ultrasounds are typically known as the standard by which most sonographers learned the trade. We like to say that most sonographers "grew up" on HP. Recent models have come down in price, making some of their more newer, higher-end systems very affordable. This is typically a top recommendation for most cardiac and/or cardiac/vascular customers.
Mindray Ultrasound Machines
This company has carved out its niche as a good ultrasound provider at a low price. You won't get all the bells & whistles that you would out of the major manufacturers, but we really like they're system for the price and performance. You can get a new system from them for a fraction of the price. This is why GPS Medical is a distributor for Mindray Ultrasound.
Terason Ultrasound
In March 2008 we became an official distributor for new Terason ultrasound equipment. We find this to be the best, most reliable portable ultrasound on the market. For cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal, phlebology, anesthesiology and breast ultrasound. We've had tremendous success with the Terason product and find that it really sells itself.
