Keep in mind that there are a lot of great ultrasounds on the market today, so in making this list we occasionally had to make some very close calls as to which system would be added. Some units may not make this list simply because they're in a category with other solid performers. In this case, we occasionally added a second unit or chose the unit that has a higher availability. Our Selection Process
The most important criteria in choosing these systems were Image Quality, Ease of Use, Reliability, Availability, and Price. Once this list was compiled, we debated, looked at service histories, and talked to our end-users about their thoughts on these ultrasounds. Systems with parts that are increasingly difficult to find (eg: Diasonics, older Biosound, and older Siemens models) were cut from the list. In addition, high cost replacement probes steered us away from some ATL ultrasound systems that may have done well in some categories. The release of competitive products from General Electric that have a lower cost for probes often led GE to edge out ATL systems on our pages.

Ultrasound machines are some of the most vital medical equipment, vital to any medical clinic, hospital, doctor’s office, and any other type of medical office. Like any other type of medical equipment it will fail when you use it enough and don’t properly maintain it and keep up on things properly. When your equipment goes out or needs to be replaced for any other reason that can be a real problem for you and your business. There are not always enough funds in the reserve to cover the cost of replacing your ultrasound machine with a brand new ultrasound machine, so what do you do? You can’t possibly go without your ultrasound machine as it is one of the most vital pieces of medical equipment on the market today.

When you buy refurbished ultrasound machines, you are buying ultrasound machines that are of a higher quality than you might expect. Just because something has been used before does not mean that it does not work well. As a matter of fact, if you really consider the idea of refurbished ultrasound equipment in general you will eventually realize that refurbished ultrasound machines are actually a more reliable option than the machines you probably have in your medical office now. After all, they have been reworked and replaced with brand new working parts that are more efficient and practical, that work better and make things easier for you.

Refurbished ultrasounds are also available in later and later, more and more advanced models. In the time that you get your original ultrasound machine and have the need to look into a refurbished one, you might be able to get the top of the line machine that you wished you could have bought last time, for less money than you paid for the original one, and they work like new!
